Bloom'In St Thomas

We are a group of volunteers based in St Thomas, Exeter. We work together on various projects in our community, to enhance our local green spaces. Our aim is to encourage people to get out and about, be more active, and learn more about the horticultural heritage of our area.

Incredible Edibles

We’re growing amazing fruit, vegetables and herbs all around St Thomas. We want to encourage people to ‘grow their own’, as homegrown food is healthy, fun, tasty and often has a lower carbon footprint than supermarket food. This also helps to promote biodiversity in our environment and benefits local wildlife.

Bloom'In St Thomas shared Devon Wildlife Trust's post. ... See MoreSee Less

Our HQ garden is buzzing with bees, not necessarily how most of us picture November..! But this is when ivy bees take over. Ivy bees are mining bees that forage almost exclusively, as the name suggests, on ivy flowers. Ivy makes a fantastic food source and shelter for bees, other insects and birds during these colder months when such things are scarce. Resist the urge to cut yours back and instead, support wildlife this winter.
