The local St Thomas community recently enjoyed a beautiful sunny afternoon in late May celebrating the famed Wisteria Tunnel in Pinces Gardens, which is thought to be one of the oldest in the country. Visitors to the gardens enjoyed a fantastic Punch and Judy show, listening to the Woodbury Choir, planting sunflower seeds and trying out their hand at Croquet. There was also some very nice Pimms and tasty cupcakes on offer. There was a chill out area available with The Knitting Tent, and the children were encouraged to take part in some orienteering around the trees to see how much wildlife they could spot. The wisteria was certainly looking its’ best. You can find out a bit more about the gardens and the history of the nurseries which used to exist there in this article by the Express and Echo.
